Prolific producer Carol Mendelsohn has made her third sale of development season.
The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation showrunner is adapting Kate Braestrup‘s novel Here If You Need Me, which has received a script commitment from CBS.
Here is described as a drama about a female state trooper whose husband is killed. As a way to cope, she takes over his life and finds spirituality in the process.
Jury Duty and Richie Rich scribe Neil Tolkin is on board to adapt the 2008 novel with Mendelsohn and her Mendelsohn Productions’ exec Julie Weitz and The Practice producer Jeffrey Kramer. Jody Hotchkiss will co-exec produce the CBS Television Studios drama with Braestrup on board as an executive consultant.
Mendelsohn also has cop drama Second Sight at CBS and PI effort Jane Whitefield set up at The CW.

Additionally, CBS also has given script orders to Loco, a drama from Mommy-Track Mysteries author Ayelet Waldman.
The family drama from CBS Television Studios revolves around a couple whose best friends are killed and are tasked with integrating four unusual and gifted kids into their family.
Waldman will pen the script with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly on board to executive produce through their Timberman-Beverly Productions banner.
Loco marks the third sale this development season for the duo, which also has supernatural effort The Big Easy and a sibling drama from David Marshall set up at CBS.
This marks the latest venture for Waldman with CBS, which last development season ordered a pilot based on her book series about a stay-at-home mother-turned-private investigator. CBS passed on Applebaum in May.
Mendelsohn is repped by WME and Jackoway Tyerman; Timberman is with CAA and Del Shaw; Beverly is with CAA and Felker Toczek.
