Canada’s CTV Television Network has severed ties with prominent political reporter and anchor Paul Bliss after completing an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.
Bliss was suspended in January while CTV parent company Bell Media probed a claim of workplace harassment made by a former network employee, Bridget Brown, in a blog post. “I can confirm Paul Bliss is no longer with Bell Media,” company spokesperson Scott Henderson told The Hollywood Reporter, without giving details on the dismissal.
Brown didn’t specifically name Bliss as her alleged harasser in the original blog post, but she did identify him to Bell when contacted by the broadcaster. Brown said she was sexually harassed in 2006 while on a tour of her workplace soon after starting work as a freelance segment producer on the Canada AM morning news magazine show.
Bliss most recently worked in CTV’s bureau in the Ontario Legislature, the seat of the provincial government.
