Abortion Access Front has big plans for Nov. 3.
The organization — founded by The Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead and comprised of comedians, writers and producers that use humor to destigmatize abortion and expose the anti-choice forces — is mounting Vote. No Joke, a 12-hour virtual comedy marathon to help entertain voters while they wait in line at the polls.
Scheduled for 12 p.m. – 12 a.m. EST on Election Day, the event will feature dozens of comics and end with a panel of comedians and pundits to end the day, moderated by Winstead. Among those set to appear per the organization are Baron Vaughn, Jenny Yang, Alonzo Bodden, Judy Gold, Jessica Kirson, Erin Foley and Deanne Smith, among others. Vote. No Joke will be stream on AAF’s social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Comedy Hub’s Twitch Channel.
Said Winstead in making the announcement: “Comedians have historically been who we turn to when the world turns upside down. They are the voice of anger, rage, and reason, and today we add encouragement, as they put their amazing time and talent to keeping folks energized in the lines at the polls on Election Day. I am so proud of my comedy community and thankful to the comedy producers who, even as they struggle during COVID, are still committed to bringing joy while standing up for democracy.”
