The Daily Show and The Colbert Report will not tape live episodes on Monday due to Hurricane Sandy, Comedy Central has announced.
The back-to-back comedies, hosted by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, will instead air re-runs, with the status of Tuesday night’s shows up in the air.
The two programs join a growing list of shows that have thrown in the towel on Monday production thanks to the massive storm headed toward New York City. Earlier in the day, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which is scheduled to do a week of shows in Brooklyn, called off its Monday taping. They joined all scripted shows shot at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, as well as all shows shot outdoors in in the city.
As of now, both Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman will still host their late night shows. Both will film without audiences Monday night.
