After Monday’s Dancing With the Stars‘ semifinals performance show, it seemed clear which pair would be going home before the season finale.

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas ended their second dance with a bit of a snafu, injuring Jenkins’ back and making them the lowest scorers of a near-perfect night. And while many had likely counted them out, they ended up being the first couple to get the green light to the finale.
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough on the other hand, who topped with a near perfect 59, were told they were in jeopardy. They were forced to sweat it out for nearly the entire broadcast before they were ultimately joined by Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd. (Cheryl Burke and William Levy also received a golden ticket.)
And since it all comes down to votes, Menounos did not match Driver’s NFL fanbase. After bruised ribs, busted feet and umpteen montages of that distinctive laugh, the Extra host was sent home with the mirrorball almost in sight.
She didn’t reflect on the experience during the closing moments of the show, but she did thank pretty much everyone in the studio.
