While the first substantial look at the new season, which was posted 10 days ago, featured Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) in action, the new preview is all about Elektra (Elodie Yung), with whom Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was shown reuniting at the end of the first preview.
In the second half of the trailer, Matt and Elektra team up to take on new forces rising in Hell’s Kitchen. The preview also shows a bit of Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple.
Daredevil‘s second season of 13 one-hour episodes starts streaming on Friday, March 18. This season also finds Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez taking over as showrunners from first season boss Steven DeKnight, who took over for initial showrunner Drew Goddard, who exited to focus on Marvel features.
Daredevil was the first of five Marvel series to debut on Netflix, leading into Jessica Jones and the upcoming dramas Iron Fist and Luke Cage before all four heroes team up for the miniseries The Defenders, in a massive pact with Marvel. The streaming service is also eyeing a potential The Punisher spinoff, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed earlier this year.??
“With the Punisher and Elektra, we get to take it darker and further,” Petrie said at New York Comic Con of Daredevil‘s second season. “The stuff you want to see, we want to see, and we can’t wait to show it to you.”
