LONDON – Talk about keeping it in the family. Doctor Who star David Tennant is to marry Georgia Moffett, the daughter of actor Peter Davison who played the time-traveling Doctor in the 1980s.
The couple met three years ago on the Doctor Who set of the cult sci-fi show when Moffett played Tennant’s daughter Jenny in a single episode.
Tennant, has since handed over the mantle of The Doctor to upcoming star Matt Smith in order to pursue a stage career in such roles as Hamlet, and is thought to have a role in the upcoming Hobbit due for release next year.
He has a string of movie credits including playing the son of Ministry of Magic judge Bartie Crouch in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The wedding — which will likely trigger all manner of protocol headaches as, strictly speaking, Timelords cannot regenerate at the same time in different bodies — is scheduled for New Year 2012.
