A second season of The Deep has been greenlit for production for Netflix in the U.S., Australia’s ABC, Germany’s Super RTL and Canada’s Family CHRGD channels.
The CG-animated underwater adventure series from Technicolor, Canada’s DHX Media and A Stark Production is set for another 13 half-hours.
The Deep follows the adventures of the Nekton family, a team of ocean explorers, and started streaming on Netflix in June 2016. The series is based on the graphic novel series created by comic book author and playwright Tom Taylor, who also serves as co-creator and lead writer of the series.
The Deep also airs on ABC ME in Australia, on Finland’s YLE, Norway’s NRK and upcoming launches on Ketnet in Belgium and Minika in Turkey.
