New York Yankee shortstop, Derek Jeter, hit the career milestone 3,000th hit on Saturday at Yankee Stadium, and while many who have joined the 3K club find that to be memorable enough, Jeter made sure the hit really counted.

In the end, the game was not only groundbreaking for his career and the player’s first homer at Yankee Stadium since last July, he also scored the game’s winning RBI. With today’s hit, Jeter joins the MLB’s 3,000 Hit Club, which includes Pete Rose and Ty Cobb (who also went on to reach the 4000 Hit Club), as well as Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Tony Gwynn, and Lou Brock.
