Showtime has released the official key art for Season 6 of its serial killer drama Dexter and Miami Metro’s favorite blood spatter pro has grown some very appropriate wings.
Religion will play a central theme this season, with Edward James Olmos guest starring as Geller, a professor of religious studies, Colin Hanks as one of his students and Mos joining as an ex-con who helps reform others.
Will any of the three be this season’s big bad and following the footsteps guest stars like John Lithgow’s Emmy-winning Trinity Killer?

“I think every season it’s Dexter (Michael C. Hall) who’s the big bad,” Olmos told The Hollywood Reporter at this week’s Season 5 DVD premiere in Hollywood. “He’s the one who keeps killing everybody!”
Co-star David Zayas noted that Angel Batista will face both personal and professional obstacles this year in addition to his own “challenges” with religion.
“He probably, when asked, will give his insight into religion but Angel has his own challenges with religion that will probably be shown this season,” he told THR, adding that how homicide detectives within Miami Metro express and practice their religion will also be explored.
“The underlying theme of this season is based on religion, it’s based on fanaticism. Season 6 will probably be the darkest season of the six,” he said.
C.S. Lee, meanwhile, noted that Masuka may have other things on his mind than religion.
“He needs to find love before he finds religion,” he said.
Season 6 of Dexter premieres Oct. 2 at 9 p.m.; Season 5 bows Aug. 16 on DVD.
