Disney XD, the conglomerate’s cable channel targeting boys, has notified the cast and crew of I’m in the Band that the show won’t return for a third season.
A Disney XD spokeswoman said Thursday that enough new episodes of the live-action sitcom have been produced to last for the rest of the year and that they’ll be accompanied by “a robust marketing plan.”
I’m in the Band is the second show canceled at Disney XD; the first was Aaron Stone, a live-action adventure series that debuted with the launch of the channel in February 2009 and lasted two seasons.
A Disney XD spokeswoman also acknowledged that the future of another early show at Disney XD, the skateboarding sitcom Zeke and Luther, is in limbo.

“Zeke and Luther has wrapped production on Season 3, and a decision has yet to be made on future seasons,” she said.
The show stars Hutch Dano and Adam Hicks, both of whom starred recently in original movies on the Disney Channel: Hicks in Lemonade Mouth and Dano in Den Brother.
Disney XD has several new shows in the pipeline:
Kickin’ It premieres in June and stars Jason Earle (Hannah Montana’s brother) as the purveyor of the country’s worst martial arts dojo.
Motorcity bows next year and is an animated show about a futuristic Detroit where automobiles and other freedoms have been banned. The voice cast includes Mark Hamill of the original Star Wars trilogy and Brian Doyle Murray.
Tron: Uprising premieres next year and is an animated show that falls in the Tron timeline somewhere between the 1982 original film and the recent Tron: Legacy. The voice cast includes Bruce Boxleitner, Paul Reubens, Mandy Moore and Elijah Wood.
Disney XD also is launching next year a Marvel block of programming anchored by the upcoming animated show Ultimate Spider-Man.
