Drew Barrymore could be eyeing a bigger TV return than first considered.
The actress, who next narrates NBC’s unscripted First Dates series for Warner Bros. Television, is considering hosting a daytime talk show for the studio, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
As first reported by Variety, Barrymore has been in discussions to develop a talk show for WBTV. No deal is in place. WBTV declined comment.
The move would come as the next TV gig for the actress. Beyond NBC’s First Dates — produced by Ellen DeGeneres’ WBTV-based A Very Good Production banner — Barrymore next stars in Netflix scripted comedy Santa Clarita Diet.
Her recent TV gigs have included executive producing VH1’s Tough Love, Esquire’s Knife Fight and Blooms, a scripted drama in development at MTV.
On the feature side, Barrymore’s credits include Scream, Donnie Darko, Charlie’s Angels, The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates.
