The Glades star Jordan Wall and Ed alum Josh Randall have joined the growing list of guest stars on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva.
Both actors are set to appear in the sixth episode of the series’ fifth season, which premieres at 9 pm. Sunday, June 23.

Randall will play Stuart Kane, a world-renowned L.A.-based chemistry professor who has recently fallen in love with a beautiful model. But both his flourishing career and budding romance are threatened when he’s arrested at LAX for attempting to smuggle drugs out of the country.
Wall is set to portray Brad Pines, a grad student in chemistry and protege of Kane. Brad is an ambitious young researcher who puts his work on hold to support his mentor following the shocking arrest.
“Jordan plays Brad Pines, a character who harbors a secret, and only Jane Bingum is able to see who he really is at the core,” executive producer Josh Berman tells The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive statement.
Of Randall, he added: “I’ve been following Josh Randall’s career for years and feel so lucky to finally get to work with him on Drop Dead Diva. He’s one of those amazing actors who’s equally gifted in comedy and drama, and we’re thrilled that he’ll be playing Professor Kane in an episode with one of the best Diva twists yet.”
Wall’s role marks a departure from his character on A&E’s Glades — nerdy, eager-to-please lab technician Daniel Green. His previous credits include Harry’s Law.
Randall is best known for his long-running role as Mike Burton on Ed. Other credits include Scrubs and Greek.
STORY: ‘Drop Dead Diva’ Casts Heartthrob as New Angel
They join previously announced guest stars including Sandra Bernhard, John Ratzenberger, Barbara Corcoran, Brigid Brannagh and Reiko Aylesworth.
The casting news comes as the show is in the midst of shooting its fifth season, which underwent some budget cuts to get a green light from the network. The series was canceled in January after talks with studio Sony Pictures Television about cost-cutting options stalled, but a new agreement between the two sides led to its revival a couple months later.
Drop Dead Diva’s fifth-season opener, titled “Back From the Dead,” picks up from the season four cliffhanger finale in which Old Jane appeared to return to Earth in the body of Owen (Lex Medlin), New Jane’s fiance. Kim (Kate Levering) also goes public with her pregnancy — Parker (departing cast member Josh Stamberg) is the father, as revealed in the season four finale — while Grayson (Jackson Hurst) struggles with his feelings for Jane, whom he kissed moments before the wedding was about to take place (a kiss that Owen witnessed, leading to his heart attack).
For fans wishing to catch up on Diva before its premiere, Lifetime has put all of season four’s episodes on its website for free viewing. The DVD hits retailers June 18.
