E! and Esquire Network have promoted Brent Mitchell to senior vp consumer marketing, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
In the new role, Mitchell will lead consumer brand strategies and marketing efforts for the NBCUniversal-owned cable channels, including all advertising campaigns for new and returning series, media planning, agency management, and digital and social marketing initiatives. He will continue to report to executive vp marketing Jen Neal.
“Brent is a talented marketing executive and brand strategist who has played an important role in E! and Esquire Network’s ongoing growth and success,” Neal said in a statement. “In today’s evolving media landscape, Brent continues to find new and innovative ways to create and execute breakthrough advertising campaigns that propel our brands and engage viewers across platforms.”
Mitchell joined the company in 2014 as vp marketing, advertising and digital/social. He led the award-winning marketing campaign for E!’s first original scripted series, The Royals, and also served as the marketing strategist for I Am Cait, E! News and Esquire Network’s first scripted series, Spotless, among others.
Mitchell’s previous stints include Gap, Wells Fargo and Mattel.
NBCUniversal has been known to push marketing execs up the ladder. USA Network president Chris McCumber, and Esquire Network president and E! general manager Adam Stotsky both hail from marketing backgrounds.
