Fox’s Ryan Murphy comedy horror anthology has cast its first two leading ladies.
American Horror Story‘s Emma Roberts and horror icon Jamie Lee Curtis will star in Scream Queens, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The 15-episode hourlong comedy will premiere in fall 2015, with season one set on a college campus that’s rocked by a series of murders. New settings and storylines will be featured in subsequent seasons of the anthology series.
Character details are being kept under wraps — as they are on Murphy and Brad Falchuk‘s American Horror Story. Roberts is set to star in the comedy, with a second young actress set to co-star. A casting breakdown indicates the series will center on three young women, Curtis’ role and a father.

The series hails from 20th Century Fox Television, where Murphy and Glee/American Horror Story co-creator Falchuk are under rich overall deals. Glee‘s Murphy, Falchuk, Ian Brennan created Scream Queens and will exec produce alongside Dante Di Loreto.
Roberts has starred in two seasons of AHS — Coven and the current Freak Show. On the horror side, she starred in Scream 4. She’s repped by CAA and Sweeney Entertainment.
Curtis, meanwhile, is a horror veteran who starred in The Fog, Prom Night, Terror Train and Halloween II. She won a Golden Globe for her role in True Lies and most recently has guest-starred on Fox’s New Girl. Last year, she was attached to star in a horror drama set up at ABC Family. She’s repped by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman.
