Emmy Poll: Which Show Should Win Best Limited Series?

This year’s competition in the outstanding limited series category is as tough as it is diverse. Five shows are vying for the Emmy in one of this year’s most high-profile categories.

Perhaps the stiffest competition comes from FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which earned a staggering six acting nominations in addition to an outstanding limited series nom. Executive producer Ryan Murphy, who has received nominations in the category before for American Horror Story, took on what is arguably the most publicized murder trial in history with a dramatic portrayal of the O.J. Simpson murder trial of the 1990s. 

FX has another offering in the category this year, with the second season of Fargo. In 2014, the quirky crime drama took home the outstanding miniseries Emmy. Can this year’s iteration, set in the 1970s, accomplish the same feat?

Also up for its second Emmy in the category is ABC’s American Crime, the gritty anthology from Oscar-winning scribe of 12 Years a Slave, John Ridley.

AMC scored a nod for the sleek story of an intelligence operative infiltrating the inner circles of an arms dealer in The Night Manager, which originally aired on the BBC. 

Last but certainly not least, there is History’s Roots, the reimagining of the classic miniseries from 1977, which won nine Emmys, including the one for outstanding limited series.
