Twitter is getting animated about Sunday night’s Emmy Awards.
The social networking platform has created a custom emoji for Emmys host Jimmy Kimmel that will appear anytime users tweet under the official Emmys hashtags during the next week. Kimmel was expected to announce the emoji during Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The emoji, which shows Kimmel in a tux wielding an Emmy trophy, is activated anytime a Twitter user tweets out one of seven official Emmys hashtags, including #JimmyKimmel, #Emmys, #Emmys2016 and #KimmelEmmys.
Kimmel was confirmed as the host for the 2016 Primetime Emmys in March. It’s his second time in the high-profile gig after a stint as host in 2012. The annual television industry awards show is being broadcast Sunday evening on ABC, the network that also airs Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The late-night show is nominated for variety talk series, going up against Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Real Time With Bill Maher, The Late Late Show With James Corden and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The 68th Primetime Emmys will air live from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 18.
