The times they are a changin‘ on Empire.
Fox released a new season two promo Wednesday for the hit drama, in which Lucious (Terrence Howard) has traded his designer duds for an orange jumpsuit and — more shockingly — Anika (Grace Gealy) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) are seen walking side-by-side through the offices of Empire Records offices.
Yes, it appears the once-mortal enemies maybe actually be on the same side for once. But is that for or against Lucious? It appears the longtime CEO may not be behind bars too long, that is if his middle son Jamal (Jussie Smollett) has anything to do with it. In the new teaser, he’s seen performing at a packed outdoor concert with banners reading, “Free Lucious.”
Although Jamal is now in charge, it appears Cookie is sticking close to one of her other children, if the new footage is any indication of what’s to come. As the promo says, “it’s about the power.”
