H: D:
The misfits from Rear D are getting back together.
The cast and creators of Fox’s late and great Enlisted as well as the co-creators of Playing House have scheduled reunion events to raise funds for Feeding America.
Organized by Play-Per View, Enlisted creator Kevin Biegel and exec producer Mike Royce will be joined by series stars Geoff Stults, Parker Young, Chris Lowell, Angelique Cabral, Michelle Buteau, Keith David, Mel Rodriguez, Mort Burke, Kyle Davis, Tania Gunadi and Ross Phillips. The event, dubbed Yes, We’re Still Soldiers: An Enlisted Reunion, is scheduled for Saturday, March 6 at 7 p.m. ET. The live-stream will feature a table reading of the “Prank War” episode followed by a Q&A. The reunion will be available on Play-PerView on-demand through March 10.

A week after that, co-creators and co-stars Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair will reunite with cast members from USA Network’s critical darling Playing House. Set for March 13 at 7 p.m. ET, they will be joined by Lindsay Sloane, Zach Woods and other cast members that will be announced at a later date. It will be available on-demand through March 17.
Enlisted ran for one season on Fox in 2014. The under-rated series, based on Biegel’s relationship with his brothers, was a hit with critics but ratings underperformer. Producers 20th Television attempted to find a new home for the military-focused comedy. A deal to revive the series was close to coming together at Yahoo but never materialized as the tech giant reversed course on entering the originals space.
Playing House ran for three seasons on USA Network. The comedy, one of the rare half-hour scripted shows at USA, was based on the real-life friendship between its co-creators and co-stars and developed a cult following. It was canceled in 2017.
Both reunions are backed by Play-PerView, which has already organized nearly 40 live-streamed events and raised nearly $250,000 to support arts organizations and other charities that have been impacted by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Play-PerView has also recently been behind TV reunions for You’re the Worst and Timeless and a number of Broadway-focused live readings. To the latter point, Play-PerView has also enlisted Michael McKean and Annette O’Toole for a live stream of The Typists, by Murray Schisgal. That event will take place Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. ET.
Tickets for all events are available at Play-PerView. Proceeds from the event will benefit Feeding America.
