Eric McCormack Cast in TNT’s ‘Perception’ Pilot

Will & Grace star Eric McCormack has signed on in the lead role for TNT drama pilot Perception, the network announced Thursday.

Perception centers on Dr. Geoffrey Pierce (McCormack), a neuroscientist who uses his outlook to help the government solve complicated cases. With knowledge of human behavior and an understanding of the mind, the professor uses lessons from his unique and odd perspective on the world.

This project is McCormack’s third with the cable network. He starred alongside Tom Cavanagh in Trust Me and was a co-producer on the pilot Imperfect Union back in 2007.

Kenneth Biller (Smallville, Legend of the Seeker) serves as executive producer with Mike Sussman (Star Trek: Voyager) as co-executive producer. McCormack will also produce.

Biller and Sussman wrote the pilot, which is produced by ABC Studios.
