Everybody Loves Raymond Still - H 2015
Courtesy of PhotofestThere’s one less reunion on the books for the upcoming fifth annual ATX Television Festival.
The event has decided not to move with a reunion of the cast and producers of Everybody Loves Raymond in the wake of star Doris Roberts’ death, the fest announced Thursday.
The event’s official Twitter account cited “many factors” that went into the decision, one no doubt being Roberts’ recent passing. The actress, who won five Emmys for her performance as Marie Barone, died Sunday at the age of 90.

When speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about Roberts on Monday, series creator Phil Rosenthal said it was unclear whether the reunion would proceed minus the actress. “I can’t even tell you that this will still happen this year,” he said. “We may wait.”
Although they won’t be gathering in Texas, many of the cast and crew involved with the show reunited Wednesday to remember Roberts, according to a photo posted by Rosenthal on Twitter.
Prior to Roberts, Sawyer Sweeten, who played Ray and Debra Barone’s son, Geoffrey, died last year. Peter Boyle, who played family patriarch Frank, passed away in 2006.
ATX has quickly become known for staging reunions of popular shows such as Gilmore Girls, which closed out the festival last year several months ahead of the news that Netflix would revive the series.
Other reunions scheduled for this year’s fest, which is set to run June 9-12, include The West Wing, Friday Night Lights, Ugly Betty and Rescue Me as well as the writers behind The Shield and The O.C.
