FX is adding another rock star to its potential lineup.
The male-skewing cable network is developing a half-hour comedy with Foo Fighters’ singer-songwriter Dave Grohl and comedian Dana Gould that would revolve around a rock band on the verge of stardom and breaking up.
The untitled project would revolve around the band as they seek professional assistance from a couples’ therapist on the brink of divorce. Gould will write and exec produce alongside Grohl, 3 Arts’ Tom Lassally and Gerber Pictures’ Dave Becky and Bill Gerber.

The project joins an FX development slate that also features Scar Tissue, a drama from Red Hot Chili Peppers’ frontman Anthony Kiedis. Previously in development at HBO, the drama hails from Entourageco-executive producers Mike Benson andMarc Abrams, who will executive produce through their Catapult 360 shingle, alongside Kiedis, Laura Rister from Untitled Entertainment andJason Weinberg (Enlightened). John Sayles, who penned a previous version of the drama before FX picked it up, will not continue with the project.
The news also comes as FX is ramping up Strangely Uplifting, a late-night show with comedian/singer/author Russell Brand for an April bow.
