
Mindy Kaling stars as a young Bridget Jones-type doctor as she tries to navigate her personal and professional life in The Mindy Project, previously called It's Messy. Kaling will depart The Office to focus on writing, executive producing and starring in the comedy, a passion project for the actress.

On the heels of NBC’s staggered premiere plan for fall 2012, Fox has announced its rollout for the coming season, with most series arriving in September.

The X Factor kicks off the new season with a two-night premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 13, leading into the new Glee time slot the following night. Freshman series The Mob Doctor (Sept. 17) arrives the following week, with Ben and Kate and The Mindy Project (Sept. 25) joining the Tuesday comedy block one week later.
The sophomore season of New Girl gets a two-episode debut Sept. 25, bockending the premiere of Ben and Kate, while Fox saves the return of Raising Hope for Oct. 2.
Touch also will enter the schedule in October, with the returning drama set to join Fringe (Sept. 28) on Fridays starting Oct. 26.
