Friday Night Lights‘ Zach Gilford and William Forsythe co-star in the Sony Pictures Television drama. Drop Dead Diva‘s Josh Berman and Robert Wright penned the pilot and will executive produce alongside Michael Dinner, who directed.
In addition, the network has given series orders to The Following, serial killer drama from Williamson that had been considered a lock from the start.
The thriller revolves around an ex-FBI agent (Kevin Bacon) who leads the search to catch a diabolical serial killer (James Purefoy) who has created a cult of serial killers and hails from Warner Bros. Television.
Marcos Siega, who helmed the pilot for Williamson’s Vampire Diaries, executive produces and directed the pilot, which co-stars Shawn Ashmore, Natalie Zea, Valorie Curry and Jeananne Goossen.
