The latest component of Maria Bartiromo‘s Fox News deal comes to fruition on Sunday with the premiere of Sunday Morning Futures.
A month after her debut on sister net Fox Business Network, the cable news mothership has solidified plans for her new weekly series that will combine Bartiromo’s financial reporting with current events. Sunday Morning Futures bows March 30 at 10 a.m.
Bartiromo spoke with The Hollywood Reporter in February about how she’d like the show to differ from her daily series, Opening Bell With Maria Bartiromo. “On Sunday mornings, you go around TV and it’s all politicos talking about the issues of the country,” she said. “At the end of the day, it’s all talking points. Very rarely do you ever hear anybody connect the dots … that it’s about the economy, it’s about business, it’s about creating new jobs and growth. I plan to hear from the person on the front line, the CEOs and business owners, who can say in practical terms why tax reform and immigration reform need to happen. There’s an enormous void on Sundays.”
Speaking of the new show, FNC executive vp news Michael Clemente said, “Maria’s renowned expertise covering financial markets, job forecasts and the economy has helped define her as one of the finest business journalists in the industry, and I am confident she will bring even greater value to Fox News Channel’s weekend programming.”
