The Fox Television Stations, which have helped launch several syndicated series in recent years after successful summer test runs, announced Thursday that the next show to be tested will be The Boris and Nicole Show, starring Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe.
The hourlong program will run for about four weeks on a number of Fox stations, including those in New York and Los Angeles. However, the exact number of stations out of the 28 owned by Fox has not yet been set.
Among shows tested by Fox that went on to national syndication are Wendy and The Real. Other shows such as Kris, starring Kris Jenner, were tested but not picked up for syndication.

Parker is an actress and model who played attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime series Soul Food (2000 to 2004). She also co-starred on the short-lived UPN series Second Time Around. Parker has also appeared in films including Boogie Nights, Remember The Titans and Repentance. She was on the TNT series Murder in the First last summer.
Kodjoe, who is a German born in Austria, played sports agent Damon Carter on Soul Food and was in the 2000 movie Love & Basketball. He has also appeared in movies including Baggage Claim, Surrogates and Resident Evil. He appeared on Broadway in A Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and is currently on the BET series The Real Husbands of Hollywood, on which Parker also has a recurring role.
Kodjoe has created a clothing company called World of Alfa. Parker has a hair and beauty accessories company Save Your Do. Together they also created Sophie’s Voice Foundation in honor of their daughter who was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth.
“We met and fell in love onscreen, so any time we get to work together we know it will be a lot of fun,” said Kodjoe.
“There are so many things that we are passionate about,” said Parker, “so we are thrilled that we will now have a platform to share these issues with an audience.”
Kodjoe and Parker will serve as co-executive producers under Kirschbaum Productions. If the show’s summer test run is successful, it could lead to national syndication for the show, which would be distributed by the Fox Television Station group.
