Colony will settle in France, with Carlton Cuse’s new show landing on the country’s top network, TF1.
The near-future drama, set in an occupied Los Angeles, stars Lost’s Josh Holloway as a former FBI agent and The Walking Dead’s Sarah Wayne Callies as his wife who fight against the new government while trying to protect their family.
“The acquisition of Colony enhances our offering of U.S. series,” said TF1’s head of programming Fabrice Bailly. “This headlining action-adventure story matches perfectly with our current lineup. We’re confident that viewers will enjoy this gripping drama created by talented producers and a brilliant cast.”
The show is executive produced by Cuse, Hercules’ Ryan Condal and 24’s Nelson McCormick, and is co-produced by Universal Cable Productions and Legendary Television.
“We are excited that TF1 will be the French home for Colony,” added Legendary executive vp John McMahon. “TF1 was the French viewing destination for Lost, which Carlton Cuse also executive produced, and we anticipate that Colony similarly will bring TF1 many years of ratings success.”
TF1 is consistently the country’s No. 1 network, presenting a combination of local fare and big U.S. hits. It currently airs The Voice and a French version of Survivor, Koh-Lanta, as well as Grey’s Anatomy and the CSI franchises. TF1 also was the home of The Mentalist, France’s top-rated show for years.
