Bouchra Rejani’s French production company WeMake has signed a first-look deal with Turkey’s Global Agency, the international distributor behind formats The Married Game, Shopping Monsters and Wardrobe Wars.
Former Shine France COO Rejani was in charge of strategic development of hits like The Voice, Prodigies and Tunnel in France before the company merged with Endemol. She launched WeMake in June in partnership with Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment, the production company behind Netflix’s Marseille, to develop scripted, unscripted and digital content.
The deal grants first-look rights on all of Global Agency’s existing and future projects for French adaptation rights.
Global Agency has grown to be a global player in unscripted formats, as well as the distributor behind scripted dramas Magnificent Century, 1001 Nights and Broken Pieces.
“France has always been one of our key territories,” said Global Agency CEO Izzet Pinto, citing adaptations of My Wife Rules, Joker and Shopping Monsters that went on to be ratings hits. “I am so confident that thanks to this collaboration, more of Global Agency’s formats will be broadcasted in France soon.”
Added Rejani: “Global Agency is one of the most dynamic and creative forces in the international television market. We are delighted to represent Global Agency for France and partner with such a successful partner in France.”
