Disney Channel has set an airdate for its new original television movie Frenemies, starring Shake It Up‘s Bella Thorne and Zendaya.
Frenemies, co-starring A.N.T. Farm‘s Stefanie Scott, Nick Robinson (Melissa and Joey) and Mary Mouser (Body of Proof), will premiere Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at 8 p.m. on the cable network.
The telepic follows the lives of three different sets of friends dealing with the ups and downs of friendship.
In order to ramp up awareness for Frenemies, beginning Dec. 15, visitors to the official Disney Channel website will be able to meet the characters and play a three-part game dedicated to the different storylines in the film.
Closer to air, Disney Channel will unveil an exclusive preview of Frenemies on Disney Channel On Demand on Jan. 6. When the telepic premieres on TV one week later, simulcasts will also be available on Sprint TV and MobiTV. On Jan. 17, Frenemies will be made available on iTunes and Xbox Live.
Frenemies was directed by Daisy Mayer, written by Dava Savel, Wendy Weiner and Jim Krieg and executive produced by Leslie Morgenstein and Bob Levy.
The Alloy Entertainment/Coin Flip Productions project was filmed in Toronto.
