Perez Hilton is moving into Full House — off-Broadway, that is.
The celebrity blogger will star as patriarch Danny Tanner in Full House: The Musical Parody!, a new onstage musical that spoofs the beloved ABC sitcom. The production begins performances on Sept. 7 at Theatre 80 on St. Mark’s Place in New York City, following a Toronto run.
Hilton announced his upcoming gig to Howard Stern during an appearance on Stern’s SiriusXM show on Tuesday. “I am gonna be playing Bob Saget, basically, in a musical,” he said, noting that he’s been working with a vocal coach for years.
The new parody production hails from the same creators as the Saved by the Bell-based Bayside! The Musical!, as well as Showgirls! The Musical! The musical will follow how Danny “loses his superpower of solving any problem with his sensible Dad Speeches (complete with soft piano accompaniment). Follow Danny’s wacky and hilarious descent into madness as he slowly turns from wholesome Danny Tanner to foulmouthed and dark Bob Saget. Will he get his Dad Speech power back in time to save his family? Probably not!”

Furthermore, the show promises to answer many questions: “Will D.J. Tanner develop an eating disorder?! Can Uncle Joey get on Star Search even though he’s not funny at all?! Who will have mercy on Uncle Jesse?! Will Kimmy Gibbler be murdered? How many catchphrases can one family have?! What the hell is a Mary-Kate and Ashley?!” Plus, its songs will include: “Have Mercy on My Heart/Don’t Touch the Hair” by Uncle Jesse and Rebecca Donaldson, “Look at These Assholes” by Comet the dog, “I’m Kind of a Slut (But Just Enough for Network TV)” by D.J. Tanner and “There’s No Gays in San Francisco (as Demonstrated by the TV Show).”
The musical will open as the real-life Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin and more reprise their roles on the Netflix series Fuller House — and after Lifetime’s tell-all movie The Unauthorized Full House Story.
