Laguna Beach and Singled Out producer Gary Auerbach has inked a first-look deal with Gail Berman‘s Jackal Group.
Under the pact, announced on Thursday, Auerbach will focus on developing scripted and nonscripted fare for the company.
“Gary has consistently produced memorable and influential television series that redefine audience expectations, and we are looking forward to collaborating with him on a new wave of programming,” said Berman, Jackal Group’s chairman and CEO.
Before joining the company, Auerbach was exec vp at NBCUniversal’s Wilshire Studios, where he sold 35 shows across broadcast and cable. In 2002, he co-founded Go Go Luckey Entertainment, the banner responsible for Laguna Beach, Jockeys, Paranormal State and more. As an independent producer, he oversaw Punk’d and hired Jon Stewart to host You Wrote It You Watch It.
The Jackal Group is a co-venture with Fox Network Groups focused on prepping scripted and unscripted fare for Fox, FX/FXX, Nat Geo and Fox International Channels.
