The Walking Dead exec producer Gale Anne Hurd is staying put at Universal Cable Productions.
Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment banner has renewed their pod deal with the studio, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Under the deal, Hurd — who first inked a three-year deal with UCP in 2012 — will continue to develop and create original scripted properties for the cable-focused studio.
Hurd has been a prolific producer for the studio, where she is already working on Syfy’s 13-episode straight-to-series alien drama Hunters.

She’s also developing USA Network drama pilot Falling Water and has miniseries All That Glitters, based on Thomas Maier‘s book, in the works at Bravo. She’s also teaming with the studio, Nick Cassavetes and Cliff Dorfman to adapt Swedish crime drama Brothers in Crime in addition to working with comic book writer Warren Ellis for his first TV series.
“Our partnership with Universal Cable Productions has been an incredibly collaborative and creative experience,” Hurd said. “Having just renewed our deal, I look forward to a future of innovative and boundary-pushing projects, and can’t wait to see where this partnership takes both of our companies.”
Added NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment president Jeff Wachtel: “Gale is a powerhouse with a passion for making great content. Her taste is impeccable, and the scope of her projects matches up beautifully with where television is heading. We look forward to continue producing quality programming together.”
