Winter just arrived a bit early.
Game of Thrones fans eager for Book 6 in the A Song of Ice and Fire series to debut received an early preview Thursday from George R.R. Martin.
The author, and executive producer of the HBO fantasy drama, published a chapter from the upcoming Winds of Winter novel on his Web site.

Titled “Theon,” Martin told Thrones fans via his Live Journal page that the unpublished sample chapter from Winds would be found in the beginning of the book, with the events taking place ahead of what transpired at the end of Book 5, A Dance With Dragons.
Martin also teased that the upcoming paperback edition of Dance, which was published in July, would feature a different sample chapter when that streets in July 2012.
A publication date for Winds of Winter has yet to be set; read the Winds of Winter chapter here. Season 2 of the HBO drama bows in April, watch a production clip from the Belfast set below.
