Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson is having a hard time lately with TV appearances.
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews asked him, along with his running mate Bill Weld, on Wednesday to name his favorite foreign leader.
When Johnson had trouble coming up with one, Matthews generalized the question: “Name one foreign leader that you respect and look up to.”
“I guess I’m having an Aleppo moment in the former president of Mexico,” said Johnson, referencing his Morning Joe interview in which he couldn’t answer any question about the crisis in Aleppo, Syria, asking “What is Aleppo?”
“Anybody,” countered Matthews, “pick any leader,” to which Johnson answered “the former president of Mexico.”
