Girl Meets World is on a roll.
The sequel series to Boy Meets World has been renewed for a third season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The series stars returning favorites Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel and centers Cory and Topanga’s tween daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), as they navigate the ups and downs of growing up. August Maturo, Peyton Meyer and Corey Fogelmanis also star.
The next season of the series, which will premiere in the spring, will see Riley and her friends start high school.
Boy Meets World‘s Michael Jacobs and April Kelly co-created the Disney Channel series. Jacobs also exec produces the series, which hails from It’s a Laugh Productions.
“Michael Jacobs has one of the most authentic voices in television today,” said Adam Bonnett, executive vp original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide. “He and the entire Girl Meets World team will not only continue to entertain families but also help kids discover who they are and who they want to be in this world.”
The series, which has welcomed several familiar faces from the original ABC comedy, was at the forefront of the current TV revival craze. Fuller House will debut next year focusing on original characters D.J. and Kimmy as well as their children, like Girl Meets World.
Girl Meets World is one of several female-centered original series on the channel, which includes Bunk’d, Liv and Maddie, K.C. Undercover and Best Friends Whenever.
Girl Meets World airs Fridays on Disney Channel.
