Brendan Meyer has nabbed another spooky new role. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the star of Disney XD’s Mr. Young has been cast in Disney Channel’s upcoming original movie, Girl vs. Monster.

The Canadian actor will play Tom, the hilarious best friend to lead character Skylar (Olivia Holt, star of Disney XD’s Kickin’ It). He’s a tech gamer kid with a bright future – that is, if he can survive teaming up with Skylar to fight off monsters.
Announced during the cable network’s upfront presentation last week, the original movie follows teenage Skylar, who finds out that she comes from a long line of monster hunters and she’s next up for the job.
The movie is executive produced by Sheri Singer (Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas!) and written by Annie DeYoung (Princess Protection Program), Ron McGee (The Nine Lives of Chloe King) and Geoff Rodkey (The Shaggy Dog). Stuart Gillard (90210, Ringer) will direct.
Meyer plays the title role of Adam on Mr. Young. As THR previously reported, he’ll also appear for the fourth time on The Hub’s upcoming third season of The Haunting Hour. His TV credits also include playing Nelson Ort on the BBC children’s series, Dinosapien.
Meyer is repped by The Gersh Agency and Play Management.
