Fans of HBO’s Girls won’t have to wait that long for the sophomore run. The Lena Dunham comedy, already in production on its second season, will return in January alongside Enlightened.

Each series will air its respective 10-episode run concurrently at the start of the year, on Sundays in the spot previously reserved for the ill-fated second season of Luck.
Enlightened, which earned star Laura Dern a Golden Globe for her performance, concluded its low-rated freshman run last year. It debuted to 210,000 viewers — on Monday, where the network has never had much ratings success — in October 2012.
Girls, on the other hand, saw steady ratings growth in its first year. It bowed to 872,000 viewers in April, finishing off the season with 1 million in June.
The series recently earned a best comedy Emmy nomination and a best actress mention for Dunham.
