Giuliana and Bill Rancic are expecting their first child via gestational carrier.
Giuliana Rancic, co-host of E! News and the network’s Fashion Police, first announced the news in a statement to E! Online, saying: “We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered. We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey.”
The couple then appeared on Monday’s Today show to reveal that their baby is due in late summer. As for the carrier, a woman they found through their Colorado-based fertility doctor, “She’s a dream come true,” said Giuliana, revealing that she lives in another state but “we go visit her, we see the baby growing and it’s very exciting.”
The Rancics have documented their difficulties getting pregnant on the Style Network reality show Giuliana & Bill; Giuliana struggled with IVF treatments, and had a devastating miscarriage.
She revealed her breast cancer diagnosis on the Today show in October, returning to work Dec. 27; just weeks before, she underwent a double mastectomy. Earlier this month, the couple kicked off a public-speaking campaign to raise awareness of early cancer detection.
“It was pretty much, one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment of my life,” she said of learning they were having a baby.
Added Bill Rancic: “It was pretty emotional, because this was our last stop. … This was our last effort.”
