While Chord Overstreet’s Sam Evans may have seen his last days singing with Glee’s New Directions, his musical contributions live on thanks to YouTube and iTunes.
Despite appearing in 21 of Season 2’s 22 episodes, Overstreet’s option to return to the series was not picked up on Friday. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed takes a look back at the actor’s most memorable performances since he first appeared in the Season 2 premiere, “Auditions.”
1. Overstreet is at his best when he’s covering Justin Bieber. He’s performed two renditions of the tween sensation’s music: “Baby” and “Somebody to Love,” with support from Mark Salling, Kevin McHale and Harry Shum Jr.

2. He made an immediate impact on the group of rag-tag rejects when he led a New Directions rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Billionaire” in his first episode of the series.
3. When Sam seeing Dianna Agron’s Quinn Fabray, the two shared a memorable duet of Jason Mraz’s “Lucky” in which Overstreet also played the acoustic guitar. It was one of two duets they shared, the other being “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes from Dirty Dancing.
4. Overstreet was perhaps best when he performed with cast members McHale, Cory Monteith, Salling and Shum Jr., as they tag-teamed a few tracks, including Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” and “Bella Notte” from Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. But their best cover – no joke – was Rebecca Black’s “Friday,” during the series’ prom-themed episode.
5. Overstreet’s Sam is perhaps best remembered for a song that he didn’t even perform – “Trouty Mouth” as sung by Naya Rivera, a track inspired by his, big luscious lips and featured as part of Glee’s “Original Song” episode.
