Glee led Fox to a Tuesday ratings win.
The racy sex education episode, which guest starred Gwyneth Paltrow (in her second turn on the show), was the highest-rated program of the night among the 18-49 demo, averaging a 4.6 rating with 11.96 million viewers overall. It also drew the largest total viewer audience since week two of the season (not including the Super Bowl), and was up 5 percent from its last original episode, which aired Feb. 22.
Glee gave Raising Hope a solid lead-in (2.8, 6.8 million). The show was up 17 percent from its last new episode on Feb. 22, and was the No. 2 rated program among adults 18 to 34 and teens. Traffic Light (1.5, 3.8 million) was down 6 percent from its last original, Feb. 22.
NBC came in second place. The Biggest Loser: Couples (2.9, 8.1 million) was up 21 percent from last week’s season low, but down 3 percent from its prior season average.
CBS aired mostly reruns and came in third. NCIS had a 2.3 rating with 13.4 million viewers , NCIS: L.A., a 2.6 rating with 13.4 million and The Good Wife, a 1.3 rating with 8.3 million.
ABC was fourth with weak performances of V (1.7, 4.95 million), which was down 6 percent and tied its series low, not counting a clip show that aired on March 23, 2010. No Ordinary Family averaged a meager 1.0 rating with 4 million viewers. Detroit 1-8-7 (1.1, 5.1 million) was down 8 percent versus its Feb. 15 episode.
