The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King are back in business with the CBS broadcast network.
The couple have landed a pilot order for Evil, a supernatural drama with an X-Files bent. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the project, written by the Kings, has been an early frontrunner among the dramas on CBS’ development slate.
Evil centers on a skeptical female clinical psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a blue-collar contractor as they investigate supposed miracles, demonic possessions and other extraordinary occurrences. Together they try to determine if there is a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
The show joins the spy thriller Surveillance on the network’s drama pilot roster.
CBS TV Studios, where the Kings recently extended their overall deal, is producing. Liz Glotzer, president of the couple’s King Size Productions, is also an executive producer.
Robert and Michelle King co-created The Good Wife for CBS, earning four Emmy nominations during its seven-season run, and the spinoff The Good Fight for CBS All Access. The latter has been renewed for a third season. Their credits also include the short-lived BrainDead, which ran for one season on CBS in summer 2016.
The Kings are also developing Girls With Guns for CBS All Access, and have a series order for Your Honor at Showtime.
