First Georgina Sparks, now Serena van der Woodsen: Gossip Girl has a new boss in town.
Now that Serena has taken over as New York City’s unofficial gossip queen, she quickly discovers how slippery the slope can be. In a scene exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter from tonight’s episode, “It Girl, Interrupted,” Blair notices just how quickly news seems to get out on Gossip Girl. The topic at hand? Blair’s divorce with Louis.
“Of course. The Gossip Girl blast about my divorce coming through,” Blair says, unbeknownst that her friend is the one with the access to Manhattan’s juicy secrets. “How does she know everything so fast?”

“She probably has someone staked out in front of the building,” Serena replies nonchalantly.
Then, the goods start to spew out of Serena’s mouth.
“You know, ever since the real Gossip Girl’s been back, I’ve barely been mentioned,” Serena says, sighing. “I wish that there was a way to stay off her radar forever.”
But Blair isn’t exactly drinking the Kool-aid.

“Oh please, it is your destiny to be gossip-worthy,” Blair declares.
After Serena expresses her desire to stay off the gossip circuit for good (if only Blair knew), the two hatch a plan to find a “Serena replacement,” as Blair calls it. A new “It” girl — Lola in this case — who just may become Gossip Girl’s new favorite target.
What remains to be seen is whether Blair is ready to assume her role as “Queen B.” Is she back now that Louis is out of the picture?
Gossip Girl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
