The Millers boss Greg Garcia is off to a strong start this development season.
The producer’s Amigos de Garcia’s CBS Television Studios-based banner has sold two comedies to CBS, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
CBS has handed out a script commitment to an untitled multicamera workplace comedy from Garcia’s frequent collaborator Bobby Bowman, who will pen the script and exec produce alongside Garcia. Bowman’s credits include writing and exec producing Garcia’s My Name Is Earl, writing and co-exec producing Raising Hope, and penning episodes of CBS’ The Millers. Bowman is repped by ICM Partners and Greenberg Glusker.

Also receiving a script commitment from the network is an untitled comedy from Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother, The Goodwin Games, Late Show With David Letterman). The multicamera comedy centers on a couple who wants to set up two friends who may be perfect for each other. Harris will pen the script and exec produce alongside Garcia. Harris is repped by CAA, 3 Arts and Morris Yorn.
Amigos de Garcia’s Alix Jaffe will exec produce both comedies. The two projects bring Garcia’s sales total to three this development season. The banner is also teaming with Blue Mountain State‘s Eric Falconer for a semi-autobiographical comedy inspired by his experience of moving his family to East Los Angeles that’s set up at ABC. The three comedies come as Garcia, like many other prolific showrunners, is expanding his banner to develop other writers. Garcia is repped by CAA.
