Ahead of its formal launch in the fall, Shondaland has tapped a chief content officer for its forthcoming lifestyle destination Shondaland.com.
HelloGiggles alum Jennifer Romolini has been tapped to serve as CCO for the digital destination of Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers’ production company. In her new role, Romolini will be charged with leading the company’s digital expansion and overseeing the content strategy for the site.
Shondaland.com will feature a mix of lifestyle content, interviews, features and news. It will include written content, podcasts and more while covering politics, pop culture, style, health and issues relevant to women’s lives. The site will soft launch in May with a series of newsletters featuring exclusive interviews, essays, reviews and lifestyle picks by and for the Shondaland audience. The full site will launch in the fall, timed to the return of ABC’s Shondaland dramas Grey’s Anatomy and more.
“I could not be happier to have Jenn overseeing Shondaland.com,” Rhimes said. “Her vision and expertise fit in perfectly with the Shondaland brand and I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
Romolini has spent two decades in publishing. She is the former editor in chief and vp content at HelloGiggles, the online lifestyle hub from Zoey Deschanel.
“I am grateful to be working with a woman of such immense talent and integrity, at a company I’ve long admired, to extend this amazing brand into the digital space at this critical time,” Romolini said.
