Hannibal Buress could not avoid the elephant in the room during the premiere episode of his Comedy Central series.
Why? With Hannibal Buress debuted on Wednesday on the cable channel, with the stand-up comic cracking a joke during his monologue that referenced his role in bringing Bill Cosby‘s resurfaced sex scandal into the public eye.
Buress, who helped launched the furor against Cosby by referring to the comedy legend as a “rapist” during an October 2014 set, told the audience that he stays in a lot of hotels and doesn’t like when housekeeping workers are male.
“Call me sexist or whatever — I don’t like when it’s a dude,” Buress joked. “I don’t even believe it’s housekeeping. [I’m like,] ‘Get out of here. … I know you’re not housekeeping — you’re a goddamn Bill Cosby assassin.'”
In another bit, Buress decided to track down the real identity of his harshest Twitter critic, only to realize that the person was fellow Comedy Central star Amy Schumer.
