Happy Endings creator David Caspe is teaming with writer Gil Ozeri and producer Jamie Tarses to develop Frauds for Fox, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The network has handed out a script commitment for the single-camera comedy that centers on a family of two-bit criminals who decide to pull off an elaborate Ponzi scheme.

Ozeri, who wrote on all three seasons of critical darling Happy Endings, will write the script and executive produce alongside Caspe. Tarses and her Fanfare banner — which also exec produced Happy Endings — is on board to serve in the same capacity on Frauds, which is also being produced by Rough House Pictures. The comedy hails from Sony Pictures Television, where both Caspe and Tarses are under overall deals.
Ozeri, a writer-performer who started his career with UCB N.Y., was a writer on Fox’s sophomore comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He previously starred on NBC’s comedy pilot Friday Night Dinner and Comedy Central’s Duty. He’s currently co-writing a film in development at Disney with Happy Endings alum Adam Pally.
Caspe and Tarses are currently producing NBC’s freshman comedy Marry Me, starring Caspe’s wife and Happy Endings alum Casey Wilson. The series is NBC’s lone comedy to earn additional episodes (five).
Ozeri is repped by CAA, Mosaic and Patti Felker. Rough House is with CAA. Caspe is with WME; Tarses is with WME.
