HBO is developing a comedy from novelist Sam Lipsyte.
The offbeat comedy, People City, centers on a 25-year-old man hired by an eccentric New York couple to be their child’s caretaker.
The New York-based author, best known for novels Venus Drive, Home Land and The Ask as well as work in The New Yorker, Harper’s and McSweeney’s, serves as a writer and executive producer on the project. Michael London (Sideways, Milk) will executive produce, with Jocelyn Hayes Simpson (A Visit From the Goon Squad) on board as a co-executive producer.
Lipsyte is repped by RWSG Literary Agency, Sterling Lord Literistic and Ziffren Brittenham.
