The Sopranos star is developing drama Big Dead Place, based on Nicholas Johnson’s memoir about his work in the U.S. Antarctic Program.
Breaking Bad writer Peter Gould, who recently teamed with the premium network on Andrew Ross Sorkin‘s telepic Too Big to Fail, is on board to pen and executive produce the project. Gandolfini will executive produce the project, which could also become a starring vehicle for him.
Gandolfini’s managers Nancy Sanders and Mark Armstrong as well as actor Brian Swibel and Mosaic’s Jimmy Miller are also attached as EPs. Sam Hansen will serve as an co-executive producer.
Gandolfini and Gould are both repped by CAA.
