HBO has renewed its New Orleans drama Treme for a third season.
The Apr. 24 second season premiere of the David Simon and Eric Overmeyer series – chronicling life in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina – tumbled nearly 50 percent compared to last year’s series premiere.
Despite the dip, the show continues to receive critical buzz. THR’s Tim Goodman says the new season is “even tighter and more evocative than ever.”
The show stars Melissa Leo, Khandi Alexander, John Goodman, India Ennenga, Clarke Peters, Wendell Pierce, Rob Brown, Kim Dicken and Steve Zahnand.
