ABC News’ What Would You Do? will start airing encores on HLN starting Oct. 21.
The cable news network announced its exclusive cable television rights to the doco-series on Thursday, its first broadcast acquisition to date.
“HLN is exploring new programming dimensions that connect us with a broader audience while continuing to deliver what HLN fans want: must-see, must-share news that relates to how we live today,” said HLN GM and EVP Scot Safon. “What Would You Do? is a great program that invites viewers to question how they might behave when confronted with situations drawn from everyday life and daily news, from eye-witnessing abusive behavior to blowing the whistle on a scam. This show allows you to put yourself inside the kind of stories we are covering every day.”
Back-to-back episodes will air on Thursday and Sunday nights, between 9 and 11 p.m., starting Oct. 21. Originally a spin-off of Primetime in 2008, older episodes of What Would You Do? have previously been repurposed as “OWN Edition” for Oprah Winfrey‘s network.
HLN is also expanding current partnership with Dr. Drew Pinsky. Dr. Drew On Call, a more audience-driven approach to his current self-titled series, will involve more viewer interaction on Pinky’s part.
The one-hour program will air at 9 p.m., Mondays through Wednesdays, starting Oct. 22.
